About The Founder

Sally Nelson has worked as a school teacher, at various grade levels, in the West Linn, Oregon School District for over 20 years. She has taught summer art classes at the Children’s Art Institute in West Linn, and has instructed children in charcoal drawing classes through the school district as well. In 2000, several years after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, Sally founded Roselyn Productions, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to enrich the lives of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients through art therapy sessions, and raise money for research that will lead to a cure for dementia-related diseases. Roselyn Productions produces and sells masks, color prints and greeting cards under the Fern’s Fronds label, featuring artwork made by Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. In 2002, Sally started the non-profit Heart Transforming Mind Center, making personalized CD’s for memory loss including Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. She is now taking referrals through neurologists from an Oregon research medical facility. Sally is a partner with Educating the Mind™, which is an organization that uses Neuro-Linguistic Progamming, hypnosis techniques, and Thought Pattern Management™ to teach people of all ages to use their full potential by working at deeper levels of the mind.

Sally is a native Oregonian, who attended Lake Oswego High School and graduated from Portland State University with a BA degree in Education, and a minor in art. She received a Masters degree in Curriculum and Administration in Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a certified hypnotherapist, NLP, Thought Pattern Management, ETM, and Touch for Health practitioner. She is a pranic healing practitioner, taught by Master Stephen Co, and works with nutritional supplements, homeopathy and flower essences.
